Installation procedure for Unix systems
OcéRemote Logic is set up to be platformindependent.It runs on a variety of
operatingsystems providing that a java runtime environmentis available for
that platform.The java runtime environment must be installed by a user with
system administrator privileges, depending on Java Virtual Machine (VM). It
is also assumedthat Océ Remote Logic is installed bya n experienceduser.
Note: OS = Operating Syste m, JRE = Java Runtime Environment
Install Océ Remote Logic’
1Check if a javaruntime environment (JRE) is installedon the system. The
preferred version is JRE 1.1.8. Below you c an find some links to JRE's for
various UNIX platforms.
2Unpack the contents of the file ‘RemoteLogic_vX.tar’, fro mth ed irectory
Products/remotelogic/UNIX, to a subdirectory on the system.
3Use ‘tar xvf RemoteLogic_vX.tar’ to unpack.
4Set the environment variable ‘RL_VM_HOME’ to point to the inst allation of
the JVM.
5Run the file ‘remotelogic’with the applications as parameters. (e.g.
remotelogic QM SC P SE to start the three app lications), or use ‘remo telogic
AL’,for the application launcher.
Note: If you donot supply any options, a shorthelp text is displayed.
