[61]Brightness settings
Set the automatic background compensation
1Open the ‘Image’ card in the ‘Original’section.
2Press the ‘Background compensa tion’ function button if this function is
disabled.
When copying extremely light or dark originals, or originals with unequa l
background density, the result may not meet you r requirements (e.g. too much
background). In such cases you can manually adjust the brightn ess ( see
figure 61).
Originaltype The Océ TDS6 00 Copier allows you to adjust the exposure
setting according to the type of image on the original. There are six origina l
typesavailable. Select a suitable mode accordingto the original (see figure 61
on page 99).
Set the original type of your image
1Press the ‘Original type’ functio n button to select the appropriate image type:
Bydefault ‘Lines/text’ is selectedwith ‘Background compensation’ enabled.
This is the most suitable setting for original s that contain characters and line
art.
Press the ‘Original type’ function button to select ‘Photo’ when the ori ginal
consists of a combinationof characters, line art and picture images.
Note: If you select ‘ Photo’ or ‘Grays&lines’ , the ‘Background
compensation’ will be switched off automatically, by default.
Press the ‘Originaltype’ function button to select ‘Grays&lines’when the
original contains many gray scales a nd lines.
Press the ‘Original type’ function button to select ‘Blue print’ when you want
to copy an original with an image in ‘negative’ (image in white on dark
background). The copy will be ‘positive’ (im age in black on white
background).
