Instructions for safe use
Océ machines and materials have been developed and tested inac cordance
with the strictestinternational safety standards. To ensure safe working with
these products it is important that you observe the following safety rul es:
■Do not removeany screws from fixed panels.
■The machine is not user-serviceable except for the components and
maintenancematerials mentioned in this manual.
■Do notplace any liquids in oron the machine.
■Usemaintenance materialsor other materials for theiroriginal purpose only.
Keepmaintenance materials away from children.
■Do not mix cleaning fluids or other materials.
■Toavoid risks , all modifications to Océ equipment are strictly reserved for
Océservice personnel. It is recommended to use attachmentcables specified
by Océ.
■Do not bridge any mechanical or electrical circui t breakers.
■Do not use an extension lead to connect the machine.
■Locate the machine close to a dedica ted 16 A wall socket that is easily
accessible.
■The switch in the fixed connection (if any) should be easily accessible.
■This machine has not been design ed for connection to an IT power system.
(An IT powersystem is a voltage network in whichthe neutral wire is not
connectedtoearth).
■Do not block the ventilationopenings of the machine.
■Ensurethat the machine is placedon a level, horizontalsurface of sufficient
strength. See the Océ TDS600 safety data sheet in this appendix for
informationabout the weight of the machine.
■Ensurethere is sufficient space around the machine. This facilitates
reloadingmaterials as well as maintenance.
■Do not place the machine in rooms which are subject to excessive vibration.
■Do not place the machine in rooms which are too small and insufficiently
ventilated. See the Océ TDS600 safety da ta sheet in this appendix for
information about space and ventilation requirements.
