The account logging mechanism
For accounting purposes, th e Océ Power Logic Controller is able to kee p track
of all yourjobs. For each copy/print/scan job the job info and the paper usag e is
stored.For scan to file with check print 2 recordsare generated, one for the
scan to fileand one for the check print.
All this data is stored in a file: the account log file. The account file contains a
record for each copy/print/scan job.
Accountlogging consists of the followingsteps:

3Make copy/print/scan jobs on the right account
4Retrieve the generated Account logging file
5Use the generated Account logging file

1 Enable the Account logging option

Account logging is an option. You enable this option in the Settings Editor via
a password(see ‘Accountlogging’ on page 191).

2 The account log file

File format The account loggi ng information is stored in a fil e. The format of
the file is either ASCII (using the ISO Latin-1 en coding) or UTF-16. The
format depends on the Logging file fo rmat setting (see ‘File format’ on
page 201). Thefile format is either YYYYMMDD.csv (for ASCII files), or
YYYYMMDD.txt (for UTF-16files). You set the filename in the settings
editor(see ‘File format’ on page 201).
File content The account log file content is bas ed on a text file consisting of a
sequence of lines of text. A line of text is an ordered sequence o f characters.
Records consist of a sequence o f fields separated by a field separa tor character
(see ‘File field separator’ on page 201). Each line of text forms a record. The
records can be of different types, as indica ted by a record type identifier which
is the first field in a reco rd.
