TCP/IP
Setting Description
Domain Tospecify the network domainname. The network domain
nameis the TCP/IP address of the domain server wherethe
OcéTDS600 controller is connected to.
DNS Tospecify the DNS server. Use semicolons ( ; ) to separate
entries.
Enable Todefine if the TCP/IP adapter is enabled or disabled, in or-
der to allow TCP/IP communication.
Enable DHCP To enable or disable the DHCP protocol, that lets network ad-
ministratorsm anage centrally and automate the assignment
ofInternet Protocol. In order to make DHCP recogniseyour
system, a fixed IP address has to be configured.
IP address Tospecify the IP address for the server. A single adapter card
canhave more than one adapter on it, so it is possible to spec-
ify severalIP addresses.
IP mask Tospecify the IP subnet mask for the server. The subnet mask
isa number that when compared by thecomputer with a net-
workad dress number,will block out all but the necessary in-
formation.
Default gateway To specify the IP address of the default gateway.A gateway
connects networksu sing differentprotocols so that informa-
tion can be passed fromo neto th eother. A gateway both
transfers information and converts it to a form compatible
with the protocols used by the receiving network.
PrimaryWINS
server
Typeth e IP address for the primary WINS se rver.Th is uses
Windows Internet Name Servic e( WINS) protocol in combi-
nation with name query broadcasts to resolvecomputer
names to IP addresses.
SecondaryWINS
server
Typethe IP address for the secondary WINS server. This uses
Windows Internet Name Servic e( WINS) protocol in combi-
nation with name query broadcasts to resolvecomputer
names to IP addresses.
IPX/SPX
Setting Description
Enable Todefine if the SPXadapter is enabled or disabled.
NetBeui
Setting Description
Enable Todefine if the NetBeui adapteris enabledor disabled.
