Note: If the material cannot be removed easily, you must open the cov er of
the fusing section toget access to the jammed material. Otherwise, the
OPC drum may become damaged.
3Close the manual feeder again.
Paper jam in the fuser section
The fusing section isindicated as section D (see figure 163 on page 270).
Caution: During normal use the fuser must be closed. Onl y open it to
removepaper after a media jam. Becauseof hot surfaces the operator
always has to be cautious and wear heat -protective gloves, when removing
printing materialin the fuser section.

▼How to cleara jam in the fuser section
1Switch off the printer.
2Waita f ewmo ments to let the fuser cool down.
3Open themanual feeder to release the printing material.
Attention: If you fail to do so, the OPC drum might get damaged when you
removeja mmed material.
4Openthecoveron theleftside(seefigure166).
Note: During normal use the left cover has to be closed. This is neces sary to
ensure proper operation.
