Connecting Power to Cisco ASR 1002 Router

This section provides the procedures for connecting AC-input and DC-input power to your

Cisco ASR 1002 Router.

The DC power supply for the Cisco ASR 1006, ASR 1004, and ASR 1002 routers operate at individual specifications. Table 6-6shows the common input ranges and circuit breaker requirements.

For example, the Cisco ASR 1002 Router DC power supply, with 16 Amp input rating must use an AWG #12 gauge wire for a 20Amp circuit breaker and an AWG #10 gauge wire for a 30Amp circuit breaker.

Note All Cisco ASR 1000 Series Router AC power supplies require a 20 AMP circuit breaker.

Warning Installation of the equipment must comply with local and national electrical codes. Statement 1074

Warning When installing or replacing the unit, the ground connection must always be made first and disconnected last. Statement 1046

Warning This equipment must be grounded. Never defeat the ground conductor or operate the equipment in the absence of a suitably installed ground conductor. Contact the appropriate electrical inspection authority or an electrician if you are uncertain that suitable grounding is available. Statement 1024
