Procedure

Step 1 Click Finish in the left pane to complete creating a template. The Finish dialog

box appears in the right pane.

Note It is recommended that you always validate the template before saving it.

Step 2 Click Vali dat e if you want to check the template configuration. A window

displays a message indicating for which devices and versions the configuration

template you just created is valid.

Note Templates containing custom key values are not validated.

Step 3 Check Enable Version Checking if you want the system to make sure you apply

the templates only to devices with valid versions.

If you do not enable the version check, templates will be applied to devices even

when the configuration is not valid for the device version.

Step 4 Click Save to create the template. The screen refreshes and the template name

appears in the Existing Templates listbox.

Creating a Template

Use this option to create a configuration template.

Note Your login determines whether you can use this option.

Step 1 Select Configure > Templates. The Templates dialog box appears.
