Configuring CPU Switch Module Redundancy
Reloading the CPU Switch Modules
To reload one or both of the CPU switch modules, use the following privilege d EXEC comman ds on the
active CPU switch module CLI:

Configuring Privileged EXEC Mode Access on the Standby CPU Switch Mod ule
Access to privileged EXEC mode from the standby CPU switch module CLI can be en abl ed fr om t he
active CPU switch module CLI. This feature provides extra security for the C isco ONS 15530 system.
To configure access to privileged EXEC mode on the standby CPU switc h module, perform the follo wing
steps on the active CPU switch module CLI, beginning in global configuration mode:

The following example shows how to configure redundancy maintenance mode:
Switch(config)# redundancy
Switch(config-red)# standby privilege-mode enable

Displaying the Standby CPU Switch Module Privileged EXEC Mode Status

To display the privileged EXEC mode access status on the standby CPU switch module, use the
following privileged EXEC command:
Command Purpose
redundancy reload peer Reloads the standby CPU switch module.
redundancy reload shelf Reloads both CPU switch modules in the shelf.
Command Purpose
Step1 Switch(config)# redundancy
Switch(config-red)#
Enters redundancy configuration mode.
Step2 Switch(config-red)# standby privilege-mode
enable Enables access to privileged EXEC mode from the
standby CPU switch module CLI. The default state
is disabled.
Command Purpose
show redundancy Displays the redundancy configuration and status.
