Chapter 3 Peak Detection and Labeling

Integration The Data Explorer software integrates chromatographic and spectral peaks to calculate the peak area using one of two methods to determine the peak baseline (Figure 3-25):

•Valley-to-baseline— Drops a vertical line from all valleys to a horizontal baseline. The level of the horizontal baseline is determined using the minimum peak valley point (left or right) for each peak.

•Valley-to-valley— Forces a baseline to all valley points.
