66.7 Using the Macro Recorder

Description The Macro Recorder feature in Data Explorer allows you to set up multi-step tasks to execute automatically when you click a macro button. The Macro Recorder feature creates a Visual Basic script of your actions as you record the macro, then executes the script when you run the macro.

6.7.1Before Using the Macro Recorder

Macros are provided with the Data Explorer software, but are not available for use until you import them into the Data Explorer project. For information, see Section 6.7.7, Importing or Exporting Macros in DATAEXPLORER.VB6.

You can create an unlimited number of macros. However, there are only 10 buttons in the toolbar to which you can assign macros at a given time. You can change the macro assigned to a button.
