TP-6200 10/12 155Section4 General Troubleshooting
Section 4 General Troubleshooting
This section contains generator set troubleshooting,
diagnostic, and repair information.
Note: The controller clock must be set each time the
engine battery(ies) are disconnected. The
controllerclock determines exercise run time and
event records. See Menu 6—Time and Date, for
setup.
Use the following charts to diagnose and correct
common problems. First check for simple causes such
as a dead engine starting battery or an open circuit
breaker. The charts include a list of common problems,
possible causes of the problem, recommended
corrective actions, and references to detailed
information or repair procedures.
Maintain a record of repairs and adjustments performed
on the equipment. If the procedures in this manual do
not explain how to correct the problem, contact an
authorized distributor/dealer. Use the record to help
describe the problem and repairs or adjustments made
to the equipment.
Battle Switch/Fault Shutdown Override Switch. The
battleswitch function forces the system to ignore normal
fault shutdowns such as low oil pressure and high
enginetemperature. The battle switch does not override
the emergency stop and overspeed shutdown. When
the battle switch function is enabled, the generator set
continues to run regardless of shutdown signals where
potential engine/alternator damage can occur.
When this input is enabled, the yellow warning lamp
illuminates and stored warning/shutdown events that
are ignored continue to log in Menu 5—Event History.
SeeSection 2.8.9, Menu 9—Input Setup, for information
on how to enable the battle switch feature.
Cooldown Temperature Override Function. This
function provides the ability to bypass the generatorset
cooldown temperature shutdown and force the unit to
wait for the engine cooldown time delay.
See Section 2.8.8, Menu 8—Time Delays, for
information on how to enable the cooldowntemperature
override feature.
