Installation

 

 

 

WARNING

 

 

 

Always turn the controller power OFF before installing the robot. Serious

 

accidents might occur if the robot starts to operate during installation.

 

 

 

Install the MXYX by tapping holes into the installation base and securing the

 

robot to the base with M8 bolts from the inside of the robot.

Installation bolt types

 

• Use the following type of installation bolt.

 

Hexagon socket head cap screw M8 Strength 8.8T

1-2 Installation bolt nominal length

!CAUTION

Do not use washers or spring washers with the tightening bolt.

The bolt head could interfere with the linear guide’s bearings and be damaged.

If the installation base is made of steel, secure 1D or more (8mm or more for M8) for the screw fitting length. When made of aluminum, secure 1.5D or more (12mm or more for M8).

The frame thickness is 26.5mm. (Refer to Fig. 9-1.)

1-3 Tightening torque

The accurate tightening torque will differ according to the seating face fric- tional coefficient and the female screw material, etc. The following tightening

torque is recommended as a guide.

Recommended torque

22.5N·m to 36.3N·m (230kgf·cm to 370kgf·cm)
