5.5 Setting Up Traps

Traps are asynchronous notifications sent from the ONS 15216 EDFA2 to a predetermined location (IP address, subnet mask, etc.). A community entry must be created prior to remotely setting up traps using either Telnet or a terminal server. Table 5-14 on page 5-22displays the alarm notification types in the cerent15216Edfa.mib that initiate a trap.
