Introduction
DEFINITY Enterprise Communications Server (ECS) organizes and routes v oice,
data, image and video transmissions Figure 1-1. To streaml ine the handling of
different types of data, the transmitted information is digitized (distilled in to
representative sequences). The system can also receive and transmit analog
(undigitized) information, which is digitized internally by the system.
