*SECTION POINTS
18.4 *SECTION POINTS: Locate points in the beam section for which stress and strain
output are required.
This option is used as model data in ABAQUS/Standard and ABAQUS/Explicit in conjunction with the
*BEAM GENERAL SECTION option and as history data in ABA QUS/Standard in conjunction with the
*BEAM SECTION GENERATEoption.
When used in conjunction with the *BEAM GENERAL SECTION option and a predefined library
section, itlocates section points in the beam section for which axial stress and axial strain output are required.
When used in conjunction with the *BEAM GENERAL SECTION, SECTION=MESHED option, it
locates elements and integrationpoints in the beam cross-section model for which stress and strain output are
required and provides material data and derivatives of the warping function re quired for determining stress
and strain output.
When used in conjunctionwith the *BEA M SECTION GENERATEoption, it asso ciates a user-defined
section point labelwith elem entsand integration points in the beam cross-section model for which stress and
strain output are required during the subsequentbeam analysis.
