*SLOAD

18.20 *SLOAD: Apply loads to a substructure.

This option is used to activate a substructure load case deﬁned by the *SUBSTRUCTURE LOAD CASE

option.

Optional parameters:

AMPLITUDE

Set this parameter equal to the name given to an amplitude deﬁned by the *AMPLITUDE

option (“Amplitude curves,” Section 27.1.2 of the ABAQUS Analysis User’s Manual). This

amplitude deﬁnes the time variation of the load case (*SUBSTRUCTURE LOAD CASE)

magnitude throughout the step. If this param eter is omitted, the default amplitude is that deﬁned in

“Procedures: overview,” Section 6.1.1of the ABAQUS Analysis User ’sManual, for the particular

procedure used in the step.

Set OP=MOD (default) to modify or add to the currently a ctive *SLOADs.

Set OP=NEW if all existing *SLOADs applied to the model should be removed and new ones

possibly deﬁned.

Data lines to deﬁne the loading:

First line:

1. Elementnumber or element set name. The elements must be substructures.

2. Loadcase name (as deﬁned on the associated *SUBSTRUCTURE LOAD CASE option).

3. Load m agnitude. This magnitud e is a multiplier for the load case magnitude deﬁned under

the *SUBSTRUCTURE LOAD CASE option. It can be adjusted throughout the step by the

amplitude speciﬁcation in the usual way.

Repeat this data line as often as necessary to deﬁne the loadings on the substructures.
