Install ITG EMC shielding kit NTVQ83 with Small and Large System types.
Refer to "ELAN and TLAN network interfaces" (page 205) for additional
information on the cabling requirements.
Media Card 32-port trunk card modem connection
Toprovide remote access to the CLI for support and remote maintenance, a
modem can be connected to the serial port of the Media Card 32-port trunk
card. To configure a working interface, follow thesteps in Procedure 16
"Connecting the Media Card 32-port trunk card modem" (page 217).

Connecting the Media Card 32-port trunk card modem
Step Action
1Use a standard serial cable and establish communication with the
modem from a PC. Use the following settings:
9600 baud
8 data bits, 1 stop bit
no parity
no flow control
2Ensure that a Hayes-compatiblemodem is used. Fromthe command
line, type the following:
AT <return>
3When the OK prompt appears, enter the required settings from Tabl e
47 "Modem Settings" (page 217).

4Connect the modem to the Media Card 32-port trunk card, using the
9-pin connector on the ITG Card ELAN/TLAN Adapter (L-adapter)
or the legacy ITG cable. The interface cable must conform to the
wiring specifications listed in Figure 49 "Wiring specifications" (page
218) for compatibility with existing ITG modem connections.
