Command Description
pnew
The pnew command has no parameter(s).
Patch Directories
There are two patch directories on an IP trunk card:
1. /C:/u/patch
This is the default directory for patch files. Patch files should be copied
to this directory.
2. /C:/u/patch/reten
Use this directory to store patch retention control files. Do not use this
directory to store patches and do not remove files from this directory.
Flash storage upgrades
These are provided through standard 5 Volt ATA-compatible PC Cards.
When installed in an IP trunk card ("hot installation" allowed), the additional
storage provided by the IP trunk card is made availableas A:/.
Software upgrade mechanisms
Use TM 3.1 to upgrade software. Reboot the IP trunk card to run the new
software.
Upgrade software using TM 3.1
The new IP Trunk3.01 (and later) software application can be downloaded
from the TM 3.1 PC to the IP trunk card. Follow the steps in Procedure 69
"Upgrading software using TM 3.1" (page 414) to upgrade software.

Upgrading software using TM 3.1
Step Action
1Download the latest IP Trunk3.01 (and later) software version from
Nortel. Determine the location on the TM 3.1 PC hard dr ivewhere it
is to be loaded. Record the TM 3.1 PC hard drive location for use
later in this procedure. For more detailed instructions on how to
access the latest software version, turn to "Check and download IP
trunk card software in TM 3.1" (page 272).
2Open TM 3.1 and launch the ITG ISDN IP Trunksapplication.
3Check the current software version of the IP trunk cards to be
upgraded. To check the software version, double-clicka card and
