Installing the DCHIP I/O Panelbreakout cable from the upgrade kit

Step Action

1For the Large System, locate the I/O connector that corresponds to

the leftmost card slot of the ITG 8-port trunk card that is undergoing

the hardware upgrade.

2Disconnect existing ELAN network interface and serial cables.

Remove the existing I/O panel breakout cable.

3Install the new cable (NTCW84LA or NTCW84MA). Be sure to use

the screw provided.

4Reconnect ELAN network interface and serial connectors. For

NTCW80CA cards, install a shielded TLAN cable.

5Tur n to "Install ﬁlter and NTND26 cable (forMSDL and DCHIP cards

in same Large System equipment row)" (page 200) to install the

DCHIP connector and MSDL cable.

Upgrade the ITG 8-port trunk card ITG basic trunk software toITG/ISL trunk software

Use the TM 3.1 ITG Basic Trunkapplication to perform this procedure.

Once TM 3.1 has been upgraded to 6.6 or later,all the conﬁguration data

for the ITG trunk node will havebeen converted.

Step 1 - Remove ITG Trunk 1.0 conﬁguration ﬁles

Followthe steps in Procedure 82 "Removingthe ITG Trunk1.0 conﬁguration

ﬁles" (page 478) to remove the ITG 1.0 Trunkconﬁguration ﬁles from the

TABLE,BOOTP and CONFIG directories of every card in the node to be

upgraded.

Step Action

1From the TM 3.1 IP TelephonyGateway - ISDN IP Trunk Main

window, select the card from the lowerhalf of the window and

right-click. A context menu appears. Select Telnet to ITG card.TM

3.1 automatically launches a Telnetsession to the selected card.
