Verify ROM-BIOS version
When the ITG trunk card is reset, it displays a series of startup messages
on the local TTY.Verify that the ROM-BIOS is 1.1 or greater. If not, contact
Nortel technical support.
Upgrade Troubleshooting
This section provides two procedures to correct TM 3.1 upgrade problems.

TM 3.1 cannot refresh view (card not responding)

If TM 3.1 cannot see card status through refresh, but the card can be
Telnettedfrom TM 3.1, the TM 3.1 version is incompatible with the ITG
8-port trunk card software.

How to upgrade software using the ITG shell

Use Procedure 86 "Upgrading software using the ITG shell" (page 485) if
TM 3.1 displays a Card status of Not Responding.

Step Action
1Prepare the TM 3.1 ITG FTP server to find the software image file
when it is requested from the ITG card BIOS shell using the upgrade
or swDownload command.
2Select Synchronize > Transmitfrom the TM 3.1ITG ISDN IP
Trunkapplication Configuration menu.
3Check the box forCard Software. Browse for the software image file
on the TM 3.1 PC. When the softwareimage file is found, open it
from the Browser so the path and file name appear in the TM 3.1
ITG Transmit window.
4Leave the radio button default setting of Transmitto selected
nodes. Check the Node Properties,Card Properties and Dialing
Plan check boxes.
5Click the Start Transmit button.
Monitor progress in the Transmit Controlwindow. Confirm
that the Node Properties, Card Properties and Dialing Plan are
transmitted successfully to the Leader 0 ITG trunk card TN. At
this point, it is normal for transmission to Leader 1 and Follower
cards to fail.
6When the transmission is complete, click the Close button.
7Reboot the Leader 0 ITG trunk card.
