Before connecting a printer to the control unit, make sure that all modules are installed on the control unit Refer to Figure 2-23and the following instructions to connect a printer to the control unit:

1Locate the Z200A EMI filter. Notice that the filter is closer to one end of the cord than the other. Plug the end of the cord closest to the filter into the SMDR port of the Processor Module. The SMDR port is the top port on the Processor Module.

2Plug the other end of the EMI filter into the module jack on the adapter (355AF or 355A). If the printer has a female connector on its interface cable, use a 355A adapter instead of a 355AF adapter.

3Connect the female connector on the adapter to the

25-pin male connector on the printer’s interface cable.

4Set the printer options for use with the Call Report (SMDR) feature.

>If you have an AT&T 572 printer, set the programming options on the printer according to Table 2-10.Refer to the user’s guide supplied with the printer for further information.

>If you have an AT&T 475/476 printer, set the DIP switches on the printer according to Table 2-11.Refer to the user’s guide supplied with the printer for further information.
