9 Go off-hook on station A.

>If you hear dial tone, go on to step 10.

>If you do not hear dial tone, hangup and repeat steps 8 and 9 for any other ports being tested. When all ports have been tested, go on to step 17.

10 Dial station B.

>If the tie line does not drop (within five seconds), go on to step 11.

>If the tie line drops within five seconds, hangup and repeat steps 8 and 9 for any other ports being tested. When aIl ports have been tested, go onto step 17.
