To Read Ref rigerant Pr essures during pumpout or leak testing:
1. The LID display on the mac hi ne control center is sui ta ble for determining refr ige rant-side
pressures and low (soft) vacuu m. For evacuat ion or dehydration measurement, use a
quality vacuum indi cator or manometer to ensure the desir ed range and accuracy. This can
be placed on the Schrad er connections on eac h vessel (Figure 8) by removing the pressure
transducer.
2. To determine stora ge tank pressure, a 30 i n.-0-400 psi (-101- 0- 2760 kPa) gage is attac hed
to the vessel.
3. Refer to Figure 27, Figure 28, and Figure 37 for valve locations and numbers.
Machines with Storage Tanks
If the machine has isola ti on valves, leave them open for the following procedure s. The letter
ā€˜ā€˜Cā€™ā€™ describes a closed valve. Valves 9 and 10 on the stor age tank are alw ays closed. See
Figure 16, Figure 17, Figure 27, and Figure 28.
CAUTION CAUTION
!
Transfer, addition, or removal of refrigerant in spring-isolated machines may
place severe stress on external piping if springs have not been blocked in both
up and down directions.
