(448 kPa) for HCFC-22, 30 ps i g (207 kPa) for HFC-134a , an d then turn off the
compressor. Repeat thi s process until the pressu re no longer rises, then tu r n on t he
pumpout compressor and pumpout until the pressure reaches 18 in. Hg. (40 kPa
absolute).
f. Close valves 1a, 1b, 3, 4, and 6.
g. Turn off the pumpout con den ser water and continue wi th the Control Test for
Pumpdown, which will lo ck out the machine compre s s or fo r operation.
4. Establish vacuum for service.
a. In order to conserve refrigerant, operate the pumpout compressor until the machine
pressure is reduced to 18 in . Hg vac., ref 30 in. bar. (40 kP a ab s.) following Step 3e.
