discharge gas pressu r e to power an eductor, the oil is v ac uu med from the housing by the
eductor and is discharged in to the oil rese rvoir. Oil and refrigerant ar e also recovere d from the
top of the cooler refriger a nt level and are discha r ged into the guide vane hous ing . The oil will
drop to the bottom of the guide vane housing and be recovered by the eductor system.
During Light Load Conditions, the suction gas into the compresso r does no t have
enough velocity to ret ur n oi l, which is floating in th e c ool er back to the compres s or . In addition,
the eductor may not have en ough power to pull the oil f r om th e guide vane housing back int o
the oil reservoir due to ex t remely low pressure at th e guide vanes. Two solen oid s, located on
the oil reclaim piping, ar e op erated so that the educt or can pull oil and refri ger a nt directly from
the cooler and dischar ge t he mixture into the oil res er v oi r. The oil reclaim sole noids are
operated by an auxiliary c on tact integral to the gu ide vane actuator. This swi tchover of the
solenoids occurs when t he guide vanes are opened be yond 30 degrees from th e c los e d
position.
