CCW — Counter Clockw ise

CFR — Current Feedback Resistor

STR — Shunt Trip Relay

Overload relay trips
when starting. Incorrect heater coil s (melting allow). Check heater coil ra ting.
Loose heater coil. Tighten heater coil.
Long starting time (hig h inertia applications
may require slow trip overload and oversize
starter).
Motor and starter ther mal capabilities
must be evaluated before extend ing over-
load trip times.
Mechanical problems. Check machinery for bi nding or exces-
sive loading.
Single phasing. See ‘‘Starter or mot or is noisy or vibrates
when starting’’ sympto m in troubleshoot-
ing table.
Excessive starting time (current limit may
be set too low). Increase current limit set ting clockwise.
Overload relay trips
when running. Incorrect heater coils (mel ting alloy). Check heater coil ra ting.
Mechanical problems. Check machinery for bi nding or exces-
sive loading.
Single phasing. See ‘‘Starter or mot or is noisy or vibrates
when starting’’ problem in troubleshooti ng
table.
Heatsink overtempera-
ture switch opens. Excessive current. Check motor current draw.
Defective heatsink, fan. Check that all fans ar e rotating freely.
Erratic operation. Loose connections. Check all connections.
