Oil Reclaim Filters
The oil reclaim system has a strainer on the eductor suction line and a filter on the cooler
scavaging line. Repla ce these filters once per y ea r, or more often if filter c on dition indicates a
need for more frequent repla cement. Change these filt er s by trans f erring the refrigera nt charge
to a storage v essel or the condenser.
Inspect Refrigerant Float System
Perform inspection ev er y 5 ye ar s or whe n the condenser is open ed f or service. Transfer t he
refrigerant into the c oo ler vessel or into a storag e tank. Remove the float access cover. Clean
the chamber and valve asse mbly thoroughly. Be su r e th at the valve moves freely . Make sure
that all openings are free of obstructions. Exam in e the cover gasket and rep lace if necessary.
See Figure 39 for views of bo th float valve designs . O n th e linear float valve desi gn, inspect
orientation of the float sli de pin . It must be pointed toward the bubb ler tube for proper operatio n.
Inspect Relief Valves and Piping
The relief valves on this machine protect the system against the potentially dangerous
effects of overpressur e . To ensure against dama ge to the equipment and po ssible injury to
personnel, these devi ces must be kept in peak ope rating condition.
