The HP 8591C cable TV analyzers use a 3.6 V lithium battery to enable the cable TV analyzer memory to retain data. The date when the battery was installed is on a label on the rear panel of the cable TV analyzer. (See Figure 2- 10.)
The minimum life expectancy of the battery is 8 years at 25OC, or 1 year at 55°C. If you experience problems with the battery or the recommended time period for battery replacement has elapsed, see “How to Return Your Analyzer for Service” in Chapter 8.
If you wish to replace the battery yourself, you can purchase the service documentation that provides all necessary test and maintenance information. The battery is soldered onto the cable TV analyzer processor board.
You can order the service documentation for an HP 8591C cable TV analyzer through your HP Sales and Service office. The documentation is described under “Service Documentation (Option 915)” in Chapter 9 of this manual.
