Generating and Customizing the Core

The Ethernet 1000BASE-X PCS/PMA or SGMII core is generated using the CORE Generator. This chapter describes the GUI options used to generate and customize the core.

GUI Interface

Figure 3-1displays the Ethernet 1000BASE-X PCS/PMA or SGMII customization screen, used to set core parameters and options. For help starting and using CORE Generator on your system, see the documentation included with ISE™, including the CORE Generator Guide, at www.xilinx.com/support/software_manuals.htm.

Component Name

The component name is used as the base name of the output files generated for the core. Names must begin with a letter and must be composed from the following characters: a through z, 0 through 9 and “_.”
