3On the Specify Subnets pane of the wizard, add the subnets you wish to discover

If the subnets are all within one router hop of your work station you can use the Find Subnets button to save having to enter all the information, go to step 8, below.

If the subnets are not all within one router hop, continue from step 4 below., you should continue from 4, below.

4Click the Add button to launch the Add Subnets dialog box

5Enter the information for your first subnet (you must enter at least the network address and subnet mask of the subnet).

6Click OK on the Add Subnets pane to return to the wizard. Your subnet should now appear in the list on the wizard.

7Repeat 4 to 6 above for your remaining three subnets

8You can now click Finish on the wizard if you do not wish to change any of the remaining defaults. Alternatively, continue through the wizard using the Next button.

Once you click Finish on the wizard, 3Com Network Director will start discovering your subnets.

To increase the time that 3Com Network Director waits for responses, do the following:

1Launch the Network Discovery wizard (e.g. by selecting Tools > Network Discovery).

2On the first pane of the wizard, select the Specify Subnets radio button and click Next

3On the Specify Subnets pane of the wizard add the information about the remote subnet you wish to discover. Click the Add button to launch the Add Subnets dialog box

4Enter the address and subnet mask of the subnet, and optionally the ranges of IP addresses if you wish to restrict the discovery. If you know
