Key Considerations This section provides assistance with monitoring your network.

Monitoring and Monitors are used as the data source for almost all information that Logged Data 3Com Network Director gathers about the state of your network.In

addition to providing live graph information and generating events, they are used for logging data for historical reports.

This means that if you do not monitor a device or link you will not have any data available for generating historical reports for that item.Similarly, if you temporarily stop monitoring a device or link there will be gaps in the data available for historical reports.
