520CHAPTER 13: VLAN MANAGEMENT

i.e. the name part will be omitted. This can occur if there are multiple discrete (unconnected) VLANs using the same VLAN ID but configured with different VLAN names. For example, if one part of the network is using VLAN ID 2 and the name Engineering and another, separate part of the network is using VLAN ID 2 with the name Accounts, then the textual description of VLAN ID 2 in the Show VLANs toolbar will be:

ID=2

However, if there are multiple discrete VLANs using the same VLAN ID and the same VLAN name, then the textual description will include the VLAN name. See “VLAN IDs” on page 523 for more information.

Find Dialog Box

The Find dialog box allows you to find all the members of a particular VLAN. First launch the Find dialog box using the Edit > Find menu option. Then select the type of item you wish to search for in the Find drop-down menu. You can search for Devices, Links or NBX telephony components that are members of a particular VLAN. Then select VLAN in the Search By drop-down menu. A VLAN drop-down menu will then appear containing all of the VLANs on your network:
