You must enter at least the IP address and subnet mask into the appropriate fields for the subnet you wish to specify.

You can use the dot ‘.’ key to move to the next segment of an address field.

If you wish to limit the ranges of addresses that 3Com Network Directorwill detect for your specified subnet, you must first select the Discover custom ranges radio button and the ranges table and Add button will become enabled.

The Discover full range and Discover custom ranges radio buttons are only enabled if you have entered a valid Address and Mask pair.

The ranges table lists the ranges of IP addresses that 3Com Network Director will detect for your specified subnet. To add a range to the list of ranges to detect, use the Add button. This will launch the Add Range dialog box below:
