the ranges of addresses on your subnet, 3Com recommends that you set the ranges exactly, particularly as you are about to increase the timeout value.

5Uncheck the Use defaults from Tools > Options dialog option. The fields below will now become enabled. Increase the retry and timeout values appropriately for the speed of your link.

6Click OK on the Add Subnets pane to return to the wizard. Your subnet should now appear in the list on the wizard.

7Click Finish if you do not wish to change any of the remaining defaults. Alternatively, continue through the wizard using the Next button.

Once you click Finish on the wizard, 3Com Network Director will start discovering your remote subnet. If you find that the discovery completes successfully, with no communication loss, you may wish to try reducing the timeout values in the future.

I am using different 3Com recommends that you change the community strings on your SNMP community network devices from the factory defaults. You may want to leave the
