The Router name field lists all of the routers that 3Com Network Director has determined are performing IP routing for the currently selected VLAN. The table below this field is context-sensitive: when the selected router changes, the table displays all of the IP interfaces defined on the router for the current VLAN.

In some situations the VLAN Routing button will be disabled for a VLAN:

If the VLAN is a non-IP protocol-based VLAN. The VLAN Routing button only relates to IP routing.

If the VLAN is being routed by a non-3Com Layer 3 switch. 3Com Network Director does not discover VLANs configured on non-3Com switches.

If the VLAN membership inference has for some reason not inferred all the members of the VLAN correctly. See “Incorrect VLAN membership inference” on page 570 for reasons why this could happen.
