Configuring Spanning Tree

The Spanning Tree feature allows configuration of the port spanning tree protocol settings on the network devices.

The settings for each of the spanning tree parameters will only be applied as part of the configuration template if the associated checkbox is checked.

The port path cost value can be specified to be determined dynamically by the device or specified explicitly, by entering the path cost value into the edit field provided. Note that the path cost edit field will only be enabled when the Custom option is selected from the path cost drop-down list box. The port path cost value must be in the range 1-1000.

Configuring Port Administration

The Port Administration feature allows the user to enable or disable ports and to specify whether the devices should inform management stations when a link is detected or lost.
