The settings for each of the port security parameters will only be applied as part of the configuration template if the associated checkbox is checked. In addition the Port Security feature places restrictions on the values which can be set for the following parameters.

Secure Mode

The secure mode of operation can be: no security,

 

continuous learning, automatic-learning, full security,

 

network login, network login (secure), or network login

 

(with NBX).

Intrusion Action

The action to be taken by the device when an

 

unauthorized attempt is made to access the network

 

through the port can be: no action, disable port, or disable

 

port temporarily (20 seconds). The value for this parameter

 

can only be set when the secure mode is set to a value

 

other than No security.

Number of

The number of addresses that are authorized to access the

network through this port must be in the range 1-5. The
