614CHAPTER 14: BULK CONFIGURATION

If there are many network specialists, a decision may be made to create a single account that can be shared by all of them.

Click the Save As button from the Configuration Editor dialog box and save the current switch configuration template with a suitable filename, e.g. Specialist Accounts.cfg. The configuration template will be ready for re-use when the next change to the passwords and community strings is due.

6Click the Edit Selection button from the Configuration Editor dialog box and click the Add Device button in the Selection Editor dialog box to launch the Find Device dialog box. Choose the Find by name option and, without entering any text into the search field, click Find. Highlight the devices that are to be configured, and click the OK button to add them to the selection of devices to be configured.

7Click OK in the Selection Editor dialog box, and then click OK in the Configuration Editor dialog box to schedule the bulk configuration of the selected devices.

8In the Schedule Configuration dialog box, choose the Later radio button to enable the scheduling of the bulk configuration operation to begin in the evening. Enter the time using the 12 hour clock, remembering to select a.m. or p.m. as appropriate, and leave Today as the selected day to run the operation.

If it is decided to schedule the bulk configuration operation for a time after midnight, remember to set the date to the following day.
