Inconsistent VLAN configuration on link

3Com Network Director identifies the situation where a port at one end of a link has a different VLAN membership to the port at the other end of the link. For example, 3Com Network Director will report a misconfiguration if the port at one end of a link is a tagged member of VLANs with IDs 1, 2 and 3 but the port at the other end is only a tagged member of VLANs with IDs 1 and 2.

Inconsistent VLAN naming

It is good practice to use the same VLAN name when configuring a VLAN on multiple switches. However, if a consistent VLAN name has not been used, 3Com Network Director will detect this and report a misconfiguration. For example, in the network below, the VLAN with ID 2, has been created with inconsistent names: Engineering and Eng. 3Com Network Director would report this and indicate which of the names will be used to refer to the VLAN in the rest of 3Com Network Director.
