The following section describes known Microsoft Windowsapplication and SunFSD

issues, their causes, and recommended solutions.

Installation and SunFSD on Windows XP Professional

Some software applications cannot be installed to a network drive, including

SunFSD, andmust be installed directlyto the emulated disk. This is exactly the same

behavior with a standard PC running WindowsXP Professional and using a Samba

drive.

In WindowsXP Professional, some software applications do not install to a SunFSD

drive. The current list includes the following:

Adobe Photoshop 7
Cannot install Corel10
(upgrade) without
previousversion already
installed.
Receive errormessage
stating must install CD
fromprevious version.
The previoussoftware is
not installed. Insert the previousversion of the
CorelCD.
Waituntil the CD is fully mounted
beforeclicking the OK button. The
Corelinstaller will freeze if you do
not wait for the CD to mount.
Inserting a Microsoft
Officedocument as a
graphic into another
Officedocument does
not work and Drive
Not Found error
message appears.
MicrosoftOffice 2000 or
OfficeXP might not
accept a document as a
graphic.
Use an earlier version of Microsoft
Officeto avoid this problem.
If you must use Microsoft Office
2000 or OfficeXP, convert the
document to either a graphic (.jpg)
or Wordfile (.doc).
Extra Lines Might
Appear in Lotus
FreelanceSlides
(MicrosoftWindows
2000 Professionalor
MicrosoftWindows XP
Professional)
If you aregenerating
slides with Lotus
Freelanceand hold the
mouse button while
dragging or performing
any actions in a
Freelanceslide,
extraneous lines might
appear on the slide.
This issue happens since mouse

fixthis issue, either minimize and
then restorethe Freelance window

shadowing.
Refer to “Double Mouse Pointer
