Document Conventions
This guide uses certain document conventions. The following sections explain the conventions and how to interpret them.
Solaris Command Windows
In this guide, you are often instructed to open a command window when performing various tasks. In the Solaris Common Desktop Environment (CDE), these command windows are called Console or Terminal windows. In OpenWindows™ environments, you can use either a Solaris Command Tool window or Shell Tool window. Command windows are a standard part of the Solaris operating environment where you enter UNIX commands.
