2-8STORAGE AND	The following paragraphs describe preparing the power meter for storage and

Preparation for	Preparing the power meter for storage consists of cleaning the unit and packing it
Storage	with moisture-absorbing desiccant crystals. Whenever the unit is to be stored for
	an extended period (longer than one week), it is advisable to remove the optional
	battery pack. Refer to Section 2-7, “Battery Charging, Removal and Replace-
	ment,” for instructions.

	(–40 to +156° F), with a maximum humidity of 90% at 40° C (104° F), non-
	condensing. For optimum battery life, store the battery pack at –20 to +50° C (–4
	to +122° F) for short periods and –20 to +35° C (–4 to +95° F) for long term
	storage.
Preparation for	To provide maximum protection against damage in transit, the power meter
Shipment	should be repackaged in the original shipping container. If this container is no
	longer available and the power meter is being returned to Anritsu for repair, ad-
	vise Anritsu Customer Service Center; they will send a new shipping container
	free of charge. In the event neither of these two options is possible, follow the
	packaging instructions below.

Seal the Container

Obtain a corrugated cardboard carton with a 275-pound test strength. This carton should have inside dimensions of no less than six inches larger than the instrument dimensions to allow for cushioning.

Wrap the instrument to protect the finish.

Cushion the instrument on all sides by tightly packing dunnage or urethane foam between the carton and the instrument. Provide at least three inches of dunnage on all sides.

Seal the carton using either shipping tape or an industrial stapler.

Address the ConIf-the instrument is being returned to Anritsu for service, mark the

tainer address of the appropriate Anritsu service center (Table 2-1), the Return Materials Authorization (RMA) number, and your return ad- dress on the carton in a prominent location.
