HOW TO SET AN ORIGINAL

A Adjust the original guide to match the size of your originals. Align the edge of your originals and stack them in the Document

Feeder (ADF) with this function turned off, a paper jam may occur.

-Scanning In Mixed Sized Originals

If you wish to scan in stacks of origi- nals containing mixed paper sizes from Document Feeder (ADF), you can have the machine automatically detect the size of each original.

Note

By default this feature is turned

off. To turn it on, adjust the User Parameters. ⇒ P.203 “Changing the User Parameters”

Scanning may take slightly longer when this function is turned on.

Small originals may be sent at a slight slant if they are not stacked flush against the Document Feeder (ADF) document guides.

If you try and set a stack of mixed size originals in the Document

You can have originals scanned in from the Document Feeder (ADF) ei- ther delivered to the Document Feed- er Tray, or the External Tray.

Note

If you select the ADF external tray, you cannot use the Stamp feature.

To choose which tray is used, edit the Output Tray setting in the Sys- tem Settings. See “USER TOOLS” of the System Settings.
