When using an external interrupt signal to exit powerdown mode, we recommend that you con- nect the external component shown in Figure 12-4 to the RPD pin. The discharging of the capac- itor causes a delay that allows the oscillator and phase-locked loop circuitry to stabilize before the internal CPU and peripheral clocks are enabled.
