*1: Fora single-chassis configuratio n,t hein active/cold maintenance procedure is the same as that for stopping the system, therefore see
theprocedure for system-stoppe d maintenance.
*2: Itis necessary to use dynamic r econfiguration (DR) to disconnect a chassis requiring maintenan ce from the physical partition.

11.2.1 T ypes of maintenanceTable11-1 lists the types of maintenancefor the fan units. For the definition of
maintenance,see "4.3 UnderstandingTypes of Maintenance."
11.2.2 Maintenance flowTable11-2 shows the maintenance procedure for the fan units.
11.2.3 P recautions for replacementNotethe foll owing points when replacing a fan unit:
■When replacing multiple fan units, replace one unit at a time. If redundancy of the
fanunits cannot be preserved, system-stopped maintenance must be performed.
■Theco oling fans have a redundant configuration. Thus, the system can continue
operating even if one of the fans in the fan units fails. Avoid operating the system
witha faulty fan for an extended period and replace the fan unit containing the
failedfan assoon as possible.
