Option Description Application
Nooptions Displaysa list of processes sorte d in
descendingor der of CPU resource
consumption. The list is restricted
bythe height of the terminal
windowand the number of
processes.The outp ut is automatically
updatedevery 5 secon ds, and is
stoppedby pressin g the [Ctrl] + [C]
keys.
Theoutput allowsyou t o view
processIDs, the User IDs, mem ory
usage,status, C PU usage, and
commandnames.
-nnumber Restricts the number of lines in the
output.
Limitsthe am ount of displayed
data,so that you can identify those
processesthat are con suming
excessiveamoun ts of resources.
-skey Sorts the list by key parameter . Thelist can be sorted by cpu
(default),time, and size.
-v Displaysthe in formation in detailed
mode.
Allowsyou t o view other
parameters.
