11.3 Enabling the Removal of a Fan Unit
Thissection describes the preparations that must be completed prior to removing a
fanunit. The preparation procedure differs depending on the maintenance type as
follows:
■Active/Hot maintenance
■Active/Cold maintenance
■Inactive/Hot maintenance
■Inactive/Cold maintenance
■System-stopped maintenance

11.3.1 Active/Hot maintenance

1. Open the rack door.
2. Logi n to the XSCF shell.
3. Executethe showlogs command to identify the component requiring
maintenance.

Executethe replacefru command to release the fan unit requiring maintenance
fromthe system.
