Note- Whe nt hereis n ofree space on a physica lpart ition or when all the resources are
assignedto the con trol domain, DR cannot be applied to the physical partition.

5.2 Releasing a Chassis from the PhysicalPartitionThissectio n describes the procedure for releasing a chassis requiring maintenance
from the physical partition by using dynamic reconfiguration (DR). DR can be used
onlyfor a building block configuration.
1. Logi n to the XSCF shell.
2. Whenthe chassis requiring maintenance is operating as the master chassis,
executethe switchscf command to switch the master XSCF to a standby
XSCF.
Inre sponse to the confirmation message, enter "y".
When the chassis requiring maintenance is a slave XSCF, proceed to step 4.
3. Logi n to the XSCF again.
4. Executethe showpparstatus command to confirm the operating condition of
thephysical partition.
Inthe following example, [Status] of PPAR-ID 00 displays "Running", which
indicatest hat the physical partition is operating.
5. Executethe showdomainstatus command to confirm the operating condition
ofthe logical domain.
Inthe fo llowing example, [Status] of the logical domain displays "Solaris
running",which indicates that Oracle Solaris is operating.
