*1: Fora single-chassis configura tion, the inactive/cold maintenance procedure is the same as that for st opping the system, therefore see
theprocedure for system-sto pped maintenance.
*2: Itis necessary to use dynamic reconfigura tion (DR) to disconnect a chassis requiring maintenance from the physical partition.

7.2.2 Maintenance flow
Table7-2 lists the sequence of the maintenance procedure for the CPU memory units.
Toexpand/reduce the CPU memory unit upper, it is necessary to remove/install the
CPUmemory unit lower.
Theprocedure for expanding a CPU memory unit upper is the same as that for
installinga CPU memory unit upper. The procedure for reducing a CPU memory
unitupper is the same as that for removing a CPU memory unit upper.
Inaddition, the CPU memory unit upper and CPU memory unit lower are connected
bythe PCI Express (PCIe) cable. The PCIe cable should be replaced when the CPU
memory unit upper is replaced. Similarly, the cable is installed when the CPU
memory unit upper is expanded, and removed when it is reduced.
